New Year Resolutions – Ones To Keep

Happy New Year to you all, I hope 2018 will be everything you could wish for, and more.
But, whilst we are waiting for our wishes to come true, why not consider some simple but effective life changes to get the new year off to a good start.
Eat just one extra piece of fruit or an extra helping of vegetables each day, and once you have got used to that try having an additional helping until you are getting your 5 a day. The health benefits you will gain will be great.Become more active. Take an extra 5 minutes activity each day. Aim to be moving for at least 30 minutes a day by Easter. Easter? Well, hot cross buns are being sold in the shops already!Stay safe in the sun. Heed the advice about sun protection, even on cloudy days.Ignore the headlines about the latest super food. All foods are super, in the right amounts.Aim to get all your vitamins and minerals in the food you eat, except Vitamin D. For the right vitamin D advice for your age take a look at the NHS choices website.Don’t be fooled by fad diets. You will lose, but only from your bank account. The eatwell guide is all you need, it is that simple. Finally, if you have questions about diet and nutrition, seek the advice of a registered dietitian. Trust a dietitian to know about nutrition. If anyone would like to suggest a topic for blogging by me this year, contact me on acremansue@gmail.com
Here`s to a happy, healthy 2018 – whoopee!
