Profile for Cordula Henggeler, BDA Registered Dietitian

If you have been struggling with fertility, or the symptoms of PCOS, Endometriosis, Adenomyosis, IBS or other hormonal imbalances for some time, let’s do something about it now. Evidence-based nutrition can assist in managing many conditions and can help you feel better and improve the symptoms you are suffering from.

While I have experience in a range of conditions, I specialise in women’s health and am passionate about helping women understand their bodies and find ways to lead symptom-free lives. My specialities include Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, Endometriosis, Adenomyosis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Hypothyroidism (Hashimoto’s thyroiditis) and Hyperthyroidism (Graves’ disease).

I also received specialist fertility nutrition training and can provide guidance to females and couples looking to support their fertility. This includes general pre-conception nutrition, improving egg health, optimization prior to IVF and other artificial insemination techniques.

I am also hugely passionate about gut health and have experience in assisting clients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Coeliac disease, diarrhoea and constipation. I have been trained on the use of the low FODMAP diet for Irritable Bowel Syndrome by Monash University. Therefore, I can guide and assist you through the exclusion and reintroduction of FODMAP’s to see if this improves your gastrointestinal symptoms. Besides looking only at foods, we will also discuss lifestyle changes to really help you manage these symptoms long term.

As I believe we would all benefit from living more sustainable lives through our food choices I also assist clients in implementing more plant-based or vegan/vegetarian diets and what micronutrients may need to be monitored.

How do the appointments work?

All appointments are online through a video call which means it is much more flexible and can fit into your busy lifestyle. After making an appointment you will receive a pre-assessment questionnaire to fill in prior to your first consultation. I will then conduct via video call an initial assessment which includes finding out more about your unique situation including your medical history, any previous medical tests or scans, medications you are taking, general lifestyle questions and we will talk about what you normally eat in a day.

I will provide relevant nutrition education and we make a plan or set some goals on how we can assist you to feel better long term. I believe in small, sustainable changes to diet and lifestyle that over time can make a big difference in health outcomes, mood, energy levels and symptom management.

As part of the consultation package, I offer a standardised meal plan to give you some recipe ideas. It is not standard to provide a personalised meal plan as I believe in empowering women to make their own choices each day, however, if you wish to have one, a personalised meal plan can be created upon request at an additional fee.

About me

I am an experienced UK Registered Dietitian with a master’s degree in nutrition and dietetics from the University of Auckland in New Zealand. I completed five years of academic study and worked in both private and public hospitals over the last few years to be able to assist individuals with a range of conditions. While I have a few interests, I specifically work with women to help them understand their body and improve their long-term health through evidence-based nutrition and sustainable long term changes.

Why am I passionate about women’s health and fertility nutrition? Because I think we have a long way to go in understanding women’s bodies and how hormones can affect us. I want women to feel comfortable in their bodies and be able to make informed choices to improve long term health.

As I have PCOS, IBS and Graves’ disease myself, I have implemented many of the nutrition and lifestyle solutions I discuss with my clients. I understand the struggles more so than most other professionals and would love to help you manage these conditions and their symptoms long term.
