Evidence based nutrition can assist in managing many conditions and can help you feel better and improve the symptoms you are suffering from.
While I have experience in a range of conditions, I specialize in women’s health and am passionate about helping women understand their bodies and find ways to lead healthier lives. My specialties include Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, Endometriosis, Hypothyroidism, Hyperthyroidism and Hypothalamic Amenorrhea.
I can also provide specialist fertility nutrition support to females and couples looking to improve their fertility. This includes optimization prior to IVF and other artificial insemination techniques and nutrition advice pre-conception.
I am also hugely passionate about gut health and have experience in assisting clients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Coeliac disease, diarrhoea or constipation and completed the Monash University Low FODMAP training.
As I believe we would all benefit from living more sustainable lives through our food choices I also assist clients in implementing more plant-based or vegan/vegetarian diets and what micronutrients may need to be monitored.
How do the appointments work?
All appointments are online through a video call which means it is much more flexible and can fit into your busy lifestyle. After making an appointment you will receive a pre-assessment questionnaire to fill in prior to your first consultation. I will then conduct via video call an initial assessment which includes finding out more about your unique situation including medical history, any previous medical tests or scans, medications you are taking, general lifestyle questions and we will talk about what you normally eat in a day.
I will provide relevant nutrition education and we make a plan or set some goals on how we can assist you feel better longer term. I believe in small, sustainable changes to diet and lifestyle that over time can make a big difference in health outcomes, mood, energy levels and symptom management.
It is not standard to provide a meal plan as I believe in empowering women to make their own choices each day, however, if you wish to have one to get you started, a meal plan can be created upon request at an additional fee. The requested meal plan would be for 14 days and can include breakfast, lunch, dinner and be adjusted to suit special dietary requirements.
I am an experienced UK registered Dietitian with a master’s degree in nutrition and dietetics from the University of Auckland in New Zealand. I completed five years of academic study and worked in both private and public hospitals over the last few years to be able to assist individuals with a range of conditions. While I have a few interests, I specifically work with women to help them understand their body and improve their long-term health through evidence-based nutrition and sustainable long term changes.
Why am I passionate about women’s health and fertility nutrition? Because I think we have a long way to go in understanding women’s bodies and how hormones can affect us. I want women to feel comfortable in their bodies and be able to make informed choices to improve long term health.
