I am a dietitian with an honours degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. I’m also a qualified chef and I believe this combination of skills allows me to provide a holistic approach to nutrition-related health problems.

I’ve spent the past fifteen years working in the specialised area of bariatric (weight loss) surgery and weight management. Initially I was at the Centre for Obesity Research working as part of a multi-disciplinary team on Phase 2 and Phase 3 clinic trials. Subsequently I worked at three of the leading NHS centres offering bariatric surgery as well as four independent hospitals.

Although my particular area of interest is in weight management, I can also offer a broad range of other dietetic services. I see patients at three independent hospitals in the Greater London area and Essex as well as at a private clinic in Somerset. One to one consultations provide the opportunity to discuss your health concerns and for you to be involved in the construction of a realistic action plan tailored to your specific needs. I have experience in Telemedicine and can offer Skype or Facetime consultations to patients in the UK or elsewhere in the world.

In addition to my clinical work, I have considerable experience in education and advisory roles.

I’m a member of the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS) and have served as an elected Council Member. I’ve been part of the Training Faculty at several BOMSS’ Scientific meetings as well as being involved with the delivery of the introductory and advanced dietetic courses.

I also deliver the obesity and bariatric surgery module on an MSc course.

I am a contributing author to several key textbooks and have written articles for health related journals. In addition, I have been an invited speaker at several national conferences.

I’ve undertaken a number of advisory roles, including: clinical advisor for the National Confidential Enquiry into Patient Outcome and Death (NCEPOD) bariatric surgery report “Too Lean a Service?”, member of the peer review team for the West Midlands Commissioning of Bariatric Surgery Services and member of the Specialist Commissioning Group for Bariatric Surgery for London and the South East. More recently, I have been a member of the guidance development group for the revised “Commissioning Guide: weight assessment and management clinics (tier 3)”.

I’ve also been instructed to provide expert advisory reports in medico-legal cases.

I’m a member of the following organisations: British Dietetic Association (BDA), British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS), Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons (AUGIS), Association for the Study of Obesity (ASO).
