I am a HCPC registered Dietitian with over 13 years experience working in the National Health Service (NHS) across a wide variety of clinical areas in leading teaching hospitals in Liverpool and London.
I have worked as a Highly Specialist Dietitian in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) since 2010 gaining extensive clinical skills and experience in this area. My current role involves responsibility for the dietary management of the inpatient and outpatient dietetic service for adolescents and adults with IBD in the NHS setting. I also conduct regular clinics for patients with Coeliac Disease.
I completed specialist training at King’s College on delivering the low FODMAP diet which is an evidence based treatment for functional gut disorders. I have over 8 years experience delivering the low FODMAP diet in functional GI disorders for patients both in the NHS and private practice setting.
I am an Honorary Lecturer at London Metropolitan University teaching dietetic students on the dietary management of IBD and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I additionally lecture on the dietary management of IBD for the UCL MSc in Clinical and Public Health Nutrition course.
I am the BDA representative for IBD UK and contributed to the recently published IBD standards published in Frontline Gastroenterology. I helped support the recently launched IBD UK patient survey and IBD benchmarking tools.
I have experience contributing to book chapters. peer reviewed journal articles and dietetic magazines.
