I am passionate about food and improving lives through good nutrition and supporting a sensible and healthy relationship with what we eat. As a Dietitian I provide expert food and nutrition advice to both individuals and groups.
My philosophy is that you are what you eat and that it is possible to lead a healthy lifestyle by employing a balanced approach to food and nutrition and I work creatively to provide practical dietary advice for real people to enjoy everyday life.
I specialise in using behavioural change approaches to support people to manage their weight by guiding them to make the right dietary choices, correctly tailored to their individual lifestyle, nutrition and wellbeing.
I have had a varied career, with over 15 years experience, working within the NHS, in hospitals and in the local community, working alongside GPs and other health professionals to support adults and children both as individuals and in groups.
Some of the other areas I have practiced are nutritional deficiencies, pregnancy nutrition, malnutrition, impaired glucose tolerance, type 2 diabetes mellitus, polycystic ovarian syndrome, cholesterol lowering and heart health, and some gut disorders. I also enjoy delivering presentations and workshops on a range of healthy eating and lifestyle topics to suit the requirements of a particular group.
As a mum with two young children, I use my knowledge in day-to-day life to balance my family’s needs to promote a healthy lifestyle that encourages a sensible, healthy relationship with food for them to enjoy.
I am committed to helping people understand how the food they eat affects health and wellbeing. Put simply, I help you to understand how your body responds to the food you eat by making nutritional science easy to understand.
