Melinda Boyd is a US trained dietitian now credentialed in the UK. After living in Thetford, England for 3 years she has recently relocated back to the US. She is available for video conferencing/telehealth visits.
Melinda spent her early years as a dietitian working in a large hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada as both an inpatient and outpatient dietitian. This provided her with experience in a wide range of specialties within dietetics. She has experience with renal nutrition, diabetes, trauma, cardiac, post-op, general medical-surgical, rehabilitation/orthopedics, weight loss, gastric bypass, maternal/infant and pediatrics. For 3 years she worked with the American community nutrition program known as Women, Infants, and Children before relocating to England in 2015.
Her first book, Train Your Brain to Get Thin, was published at the end 2012. She also works as a recipe analyst for cookbooks. She is a featured blogger on Stone Soup, which is the blog for the Food and Nutrition Magazine (from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in the US).
Melinda graduated with a Doctorate of Clinical Nutrition in May 2018. As part of her studies she completed a clinical nutrition residency with 6 weeks developing advanced practice skills in gastrointestinal disorders and another 4 weeks focused on endocrinology and women’s health, specifically PCOS.
She has a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management (Levels 1 and 2) through the Commission on Dietetics Registration in the US. She is currently serving as the Country Representative Chair of the International Affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. In the past she has served as the International Coordinator for the Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetics Practice Group and President of the International Affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Her primary practice areas are women’s health (including PCOS), vegetarian nutrition, diabetes, and weight management.
