Registered Dietitian and Clinical Nutritionist, Ms Shem Heather Allanson is a based on the Isle of Man. She provides face-to-face consultations as well as international Skype and online consultations. She now works exclusively in private practice. Shem has a BSc Human Nutrition and Dietetics degree (registered 1986) and has over 30 years of experience working in the field of clinical human nutrition. She has additional qualifications in teaching and counselling.
Shem is a full member of the BDA, (The Association of UK Dietitians). BDA Membership number: 2791. She is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council: Registration number: DT03980. She carries full professional insurance and is qualified to advise on any aspects of nutrition and dietetic care.
In her last NHS role, she was Chief Dietitian at The John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, which is one of the largest teaching Trusts within the UK. She was responsible for 40 Registered Dietitians working within the Nutrition and Dietetic Service. Shem has worked within a number of specialist areas over the years, including intensive care, coronary care, renal medicine, liver medicine, diabetes, gastroenterology, urology, weight management, psychiatry and eating disorders, to name just a few. She has advised everyone from weightlifters to film stars.
