Nutrition has interested me from a young age. I have been inspired by my experiences, both inside and outside of work, and through working with others to try to develop something new in dietetics.
As a qualified secondary school science teacher and registered Dietitian, my passion is group education; combining dietetics and education. I have worked in the NHS since 2013 as a Dietitian, with experience in weight management, general adults and paediatrics. I have designed group programmes in the NHS and also through my voluntary work.
SM Dietetics is my freelance business. The essence of SM Dietetics is to create an enjoyable atmosphere to support positive dietary changes. This could be on an individual basis where I will work with you 1:1 to progress towards your dietary goals, perhaps due to a recent diagnosis or to lose or gain weight. I also work with companies. If you’re an organisation looking to provide tailored dietetic sessions/ideas for your staff, or perhaps pupils or customers, please feel free to arrange a meeting to explore options.
I have more recently designed and developed the ‘NEW Programme’. The NEW programme, which stands for Nutrition Education in the Workplace, is a bespoke dietetics education programme with tailored resources and delegate packs. The main aim, along with sharing the ethos of SM Dietetics is: ‘to facilitate positive dietary changes within the workplace; improving accessibility to a Dietitian’. This programme has received very positive feedback and works well.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my BDA FDG profile and/or my SM Dietetics page and I look forward to hearing from you.
