I am Sarah Lindsay Brown; a registered dietitian with a nutrition degree and postgraduate dipolma in dietetics.
I have 11 years experience as a dietitian since qualifying and 15 years work experience since completing my nutrition degree.
My work has been varied but has mostly had some focus on pregnancy, baby and toddler nutrition. After training as a dietitian in the NHS my roles have included working as a specialist infant dietitian in the baby food industry, during which time I gained a certificate in the dietetic management of allergic disease, and as a nutrition scientist for the dairy industry. Both these roles have involved writing and managing educational resources and websites on pregnancy, weaning and toddler diets, as well as providing support for consumers and training for members of teams.
I feel strongly about providing clear, balanced and evidence-based advice and I achieved Information Standard accreditation, a programme supported by NHS England, for The Dairy Council’s consumer resources, which include a range of nutrition booklets on pregnancy, weaning and toddler diets amongst others.
My desire to help little ones get off to a good start with eating and enjoying healthy food, coupled with my understanding of the pressures of being a working mum, while providing children with healthy, nutritious food day after day and my recognition that there is a real need for clear and consistent messages around weaning and early years nutrition, motivated me to set up ‘Teeny Weaning’.
Teeny Weaning provides trustworthy, up-to-date and balanced advice on early years nutrition including weaning, toddler nutrition, fussy eating, food allergies, constipation, pregnancy nutrition and nutrition for new mums.
Teeny Weaning is based in Beckenham, Kent, but we will cover the surrounding areas and have easy access to South East London, some areas of South West London and Kent.
I am also a mum to 2 little girls, a keen cook and love swimming and skiing!
