Sophie is a UK Registered HCPC Dietitian with clinical dietetic experience. Sophie works with clients to support them to meet their goals and optimise nutritional well-being through careful assessment and support. Sophie can provide specialist nutritional advice for help with symptom management of disease, side effects of treatment, weight gain or weight loss and optimising nutritional status before or after surgery.
Sophie has recently obtained her PhD which explores nutritional management of chronic diseases and dual-burden malnutrition within the community setting. Sophie’s PhD has strengthened her working knowledge of research, meaning she has a depth of understanding when it comes to interpreting new evidence papers and providing up to date, evidenced based advice.
Throughout Sophie’s career as a Registered Dietitian, Researcher and Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Sophie has worked within several multi-disciplinary teams and providing holistic care is one of her core values as a dietitian. Through combining holistic care and understanding your values with motivational interviewing and evidenced based practice, Sophie aims to educate you with sound knowledge to empower you to meet your dietary goals.
Sophie has worked both in acute (hospitals) and community NHS settings and the Private sector. Sophie’s diverse journey has enabled exposure and experience helping people and families in a range of specialist areas including cardiology (heart-health), respiratory (lung health), gastrointestinal conditions, cancer care, under-nutrition and weight management.
As well as Clinical Dietetics, Sophie has experience in providing corporate Workplace Health talks, Menu Analysis, Resource Development and Academic Writing and has a published resource for Primary Aged School Children on Food Hygiene and Health
